At Medical Advantage Group we work with providers and practices to optimize practice workflows, engage patients, and provide the best in value-based care. With stay-at-home orders and telehealth on the rise, many of our clients are concerned with keeping patients engaged safely during this time. We’ve created a guide to patient engagement and communication during the pandemic:
How can you retain and engage patients during Social Distancing and Stay-At-Home orders?
1. Set up telehealth for your practice
It can be faster, easier, and less costly than you think! Medical Advantage Group is helping practices across the country to get their telehealth capability up and running in hours, not weeks.
2. Check in on chronically ill patients
Have your staff make outbound call to your chronically-ill patients and schedule a telephone or telehealth visit to check in on them regarding their health and meds – as you would on a Well Visit.
3. Send out messaging to patients
Use all the tools at your disposal to reach out to patients – like your Patient Portal, your email and texting capability, updating your website home page, outbound telephone calls, and even paper-mail letters.
4. Communicate with physical notices
Put an informational flyer or poster on your door for those who may still come in to visit your practice; patients in rural areas may not be online, and older patients may still keep a paper calendar and stop by.
5. Actively schedule patients for telehealth visits
Once you’ve set up your telehealth capability, contact any patients scheduled in the next 30 days and urge them to conduct their visit via telehealth; explain why, and how easy it will be.
